Our HY5W series metal oxide surge arresters are essential overvoltage protection devices for 10kV–35kV AC power systems. Built around a high-performance zinc oxide varistor (MOV) core with no series gap, they effectively clamp lightning surges and switching overvoltages, protecting transformers, switchgear, capacitor banks, cables and other distribution equipment from insulation damage.

• Gapless MOV Core — Zinc oxide varistors deliver highly nonlinear V-I characteristics, fast nanosecond response and low residual voltage, with no follow-up power frequency current after surge discharge.
• Silicone Rubber Housing — High-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber composite jacket with excellent hydrophobicity, pollution flashover resistance, UV and aging resistance, suitable for coastal, industrial and high-altitude areas.
• Reliable Sealing & Explosion-Proof — Fully sealed structure with multi-stage compression prevents moisture ingress; the pressure-relief design safely vents internal fault energy to avoid violent rupture.
• High Energy Absorption — Capable of withstanding multiple lightning strikes and long-duration current impulses, with stable performance over a long service life.
• Optional Disconnector — Can be fitted with a thermal/electrical disconnector that automatically disconnects the arrester from the line upon internal failure, preventing sustained faults and enabling easy visual identification.
